Episode 1 - One of those days
Sick of the work she's doing, Sarah accepts a dare and applies for the job of editor-in-chief of a women's magazine. She gets the job by promising to hire a writer she doesn't know. As it happens, the writer in question, Ben Devlin, manages in the course of a single day to lose his job, his wallet and his computer. He also finds himself suddenly responsible for his heartbroken sister and, for three months, his son.

Episode 2 - First Impressions
Sarah tries to make a good impression with the Rumours staff during her first production meeting. Ben tries to hide the fact that he is now working for a "women's magazine." Helene wants her best friend to return from the planet Me , Myself and I.

Episode 3 - A Good Man is Hard to Find
Sarah and Ben have to write biographical profiles in which each introduces the other to the readers of the magazine. But despite Sarah's sincere desire to present Ben in a favorable light, all the information she gathers points to the inescapable conclusion that he's a first-class jerk. That same day, Ben gets rid of his sister's ex-boyfriend, has to negotiate with his son after the boy takes himself hostage, and has to reorganize his home-life after his sister's departure.

Episode 4 - Rivalries
While Sarah has to face her first production meeting and stake out her territory on the editorial team, Felix isn't conceding any (territory, that is) to his father's girlfriend. In fact, he tries to get her in trouble for abduction. Meanwhile Helen is shocked to learn that Sarah has decided to live with her boyfriend Vincent � without giving Helen advance notice.

Episode 5 - Close-up
Felix doesn't want a new babysitter. He wants Katie back, and he's resolved not to like the new sitter his father has hired. The reason Ben needs a sitter is that he has to go to the Rumours office and get his picture taken with Sarah for the editors' page of the magazine. Meanwhile, Helen picks up a sexy young guy at the gym � only to discover that "young" is the operative word: she babysat for him when he was little. And Ben has no choice but to make up with Katie.

Episode 6 - The Real Thing
Sarah wants the magazine's lingerie photos to show a real woman instead of the usual thin model � an idea Sandra opposes vehemently. Ben has a bad experience buying lingerie, and Katie finds herself a new job: a job her brother disapproves of.

Episode 7 - 25 Ways to Drive Him Wild
Ben realizes that the disordered lifestyle he's imposing on his son is starting to cause behavioral problems. Helen lies to Sam to avoid having to meet his friends. Sarah needs Sandra's help to make sure Michelle Lawrence gets the cover titles for Sarah's first issue.

Episode 8 - Moments to Cherish
On the appearance of the first issue she's co-edited with Ben, Sarah is still feeling intimidated by Michelle. Helen's having money problems. And just as Ben starts to think raising a kid is actually pretty manageable, Felix catches lice.

Episode 9 - Dizzy Spells
Sarah's shocked when Vincent declares that he's ready for parenthood. Ben finds himself consoling a lovelorn Frank. Katies goes to a job interview that takes an unexpected turn.
